Donut King, has been named Coffee Shop Of The Year in Roy Morgan’s latest Annual Customer Satisfaction Awards. The award, which covers categories across more than 30 industries, is based on customer satisfaction. Winners are assessed each month, then the annual award goes to the company which amassed most of these accolades.

Donut King Marketing Manager, Raquel Hine, said the award is the “icing on the donut” for the brand. “It’s an incredible achievement to be named Coffee Shop of the Year despite the volatility of the retail and hospitality industries over the last year and related challenges. It’s a credit to our internal team, as well as the external network of incredible franchise partners and retail staff.”

Roy Morgan CEO Michele Levine also spoke about the challenging circumstances.

“The 33 businesses honoured in this year’s Roy Morgan Annual Customer Satisfaction Awards have thrived despite the adversity of 2021 and can look forward with confidence to deal with the new challenges of rising prices and interest rates having satisfied their customers at a higher level than any of their competitors,” she said.

A nostalgic favourite

Last year Donut King launched its new branding along with brand platform “Home of the Hot Cinnamon Donut”. The franchise has also set some serious goals for the next couple of years.

“We’re continuing to reinvigorate the brand and reach more Aussies, all the while staying true to our nostalgic roots,” Hine says.

Donut King has been the home of the classic hot cinnamon donut for over 40 years, and with over 200 stores around the country, one ‘hot cinni’ is made around every 6.6 seconds.
