Lift Brands, parent company of fitness businesses including Snap Fitness, 9Round and Fitness on Demand, has appointed a new global CEO and APAC CEO.

Ty Menzies, former boss at Lift Brands APAC, takes up the top job as Lift Brands global CEO, and will initially focus on helping each brand navigate business through the pandemic.

Menzies takes up the position vacated by Weldon Spangler who moved to Subway in June as senior vice president, Subway market operations. The former food franchise veteran spent less than a year in the role; he was appointed to the Lift Brands position in September 2019.

Menzies’ replacement as APAC CEO is former food franchisor Chris Caldwell.

Over the past 15 years, Caldwell has served in senior executive roles at a variety of organisations  including Bakers Delight, Pie Face and Lenard’s Chicken .

Caldwell will focus on club success and is set to lead the launch of Snap Fitness in Japan later this year.

Lift Brands APAC COO Andy Peat has shifted his responsibilities too. In his new role as Lift Brands global chief product officer Peat will identify ways for the brands to make an impact in the lives of franchisees and members.

Recently Peat shared with Inside Franchise Business Executive the strength of the Snap Fitness brand in pre-opening membership, with new gyms opening their doors through the Covid crisis.

Ty Menzies, CEO of Lift Brands, said “Even though times are tough right across our network, we have supported each other and remained resilient through our #OneTeam mentality.

“Together, our leadership team is focused on how we can best support our franchisees, and we are excited to see what the future holds as we help the world to prioritise health and fitness.”
