TGI Fridays opens up to Aussie franchisees
TGI Fridays opens up to Aussie franchisees in the first sub-franchise initiative for the global brand.
Signature Hospitality Group currently owns the TGI Fridays business in Australia and New Zealand. CEO and managing director James Sinclair said “It is a very ‘happy hour’ indeed to have TGI Fridays International identify Australia/New Zealand as a strong market and ideal launching ground for our sub-franchise model.
“And the stats back it up with Australia having the second highest number of franchising outlets per capita in the world, and New Zealand topping the table (Source: International Trade Association 2021).
“The sub-franchising model allows us to find excellent owner-operators to provide market leading customer experience and build thriving hospitality businesses, creating more career development opportunities, here in Australia.”
Sinclair told Inside Franchise Business Executive, “Initially, we will be offering 10 stores with additional new sites to be added to market over time.”
Available sites include existing and upcoming TGI Fridays restaurants in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.
Franchise growth will be promoted through media channels, internal campaigns to staff and loyalty members as well as dedicated franchising channels.
Prospective franchisees will need access to at least $600,000, with the TGI Fridays franchising investment ranging up to $1 million.
Sinclair said Signature is looking for both hospitality operators and franchisees without experience.
“Our focus is on finding operators with the right attitude, a passion for great food and drinks, a collaborative spirit and who are a values-fit for our organisation.”
The Signature Hospitality Group also franchises The Sporting Globe, which now has 18 outlets across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.
