The Yiros Shop to add drive-through model
The Yiros Shop is adding a drive-through model to its portfolio, with opening set for early 2021.
The news comes as the Greek food chain hits its 10-store milestone and is set to unveil its first Gold Coast location, at Burleigh Heads.
When the Gold Coast site opens its doors at the beginning of November it will also unveil a broader menu, with Greek-style breakfast choices, coffee and local beers on tap throughout the lunch and dinner trade.
Founder Nick Mitrossilis is also excited about The Yiros Shop’s latest food development, a vegan menu
“We’re currently developing our vegan Greek specialities and we’re almost ready to announce the launch date. It’s been a long trial process, ensuring that our customers will absolutely love the plant-based range and that nothing is compromised,” he said.
It’s barely a year since the Brisbane-based Greek-street-food business embraced the franchising model. In 2019 there were five stores located at Fortitude Valley, Cannon Hill, South Brisbane, Capalaba and Newmarket.
Since launching in 2015 on Brisbane’s bustling lifestyle and entertainment strip, James St, the family-owned business has enjoyed a steady stream of customers, providing both takeaway and dining options.
“It’s fantastic to see how popular our fresh Greek food is among locals and visitors and with this, we have built a huge following of loyal customers who keep coming back for more,” Mitrossilis said at the time.
Growth is initially planned for the home state before the brand expands along Australia’s east coast.
Since the first lockdown, stores have opened in Stafford and Albion, and restaurants have been re-opened for dine-in and takeaway across Brisbane.
There’s no indication yet where The Yiros Shop will be opening its launch drive-through location although state-of-the-art designs are promised for the new store.
