US cleaning brand Jan-Pro Systems International scooped up by private equity
US cleaning giant Jan-Pro Systems International has been acquired by private equity firm MidOcean Partners as part of a major acquisition of multi-brand business Lynx Franchising.
Lynx is a multi-brand franchise platform focused on commercial and industrial services with core offerings in cleaning and disinfecting, disaster remediation, and virtual office services.
It has 225 franchised and company-owned locations across its three brands in the US and Canada, and international markets including Australia.
Russell Reynolds, CEO of Lynx, said “MidOcean has an impressive track record of investing in and growing leading middle market services companies. Their partnership, expertise, and industry knowledge will enable us to dedicate our focus to key areas of our strategy, including investment in our people, organic sales growth, territory expansion, and acquisitions. It enhances our ability to better serve our customers and expand into new markets.”
MidOcean Partners is a New York-based alternative asset manager that specialises in middle market private equity and alternative credit investments.
Eric Roth, MD at MidOcean Partners, said “While there are multiple exciting organic opportunities ahead for Lynx’s three brands, there is considerable opportunity to grow through strategic M&A as well.”
Jan-Pro Systems International president Gary Bauer said the team is eager to partner with a firm dedicated to extend the brand.
“Our industry leading model and experience, coupled with MidOcean Partners’ resources is an incredible combination, and we are eager to see where this partnership takes our brand, especially as we continue our mission to help protect businesses, their customers and their employees from Covid-19.”
The business has recorded a staggering 500 per cent increase in upgraded special cleaning/disinfecting services since the start of the pandemic.
Founded in 1991, Jan-Pro Cleaning & Disinfecting is one of the largest commercial cleaning franchises in the US with more than 8,000 small business owners.
